COVID-19 Vaccine Intentions among Black Communities in BC

Status: Active

Project Lead: Stephanie Allen, Gina Ogilvie

Other: Research Project Coordinator: Modupeoluwa Bankole-Longe, Research Coordinator: Amy Booth

Given the lack of data specific to vaccine intentions and personal COVID-19 history among Black communities in BC and the disproportionately higher burden of COVID-19 disease reported among Black communities in Canada, we used validated scales and Theory of Planned Behaviour to better understand attitudes around COVID-19 vaccines, influential factors on deciding to receive a COVID-19 vaccine, and perceived risks of COVID-19 vaccines specific to the Black communities in British Columbia. This is to guide public health policies and target educational measures to support vaccine confidence.
