https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC13083826/In this research, 23 women residing in permanent not-for-profit housing designed for women who have experienced intimate partner violence (IPV) participated in an interview. One of these housing programs is in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside. The overarching themes identified were: (1) It's not perfect, but it is safe, affordable, and permanent; (2) Supporting empowerment and meaningful contributions; (3) Experiences living with other women who have experienced IPV; and (4) Support from housing staff.
